This App was previously known as Musical.ly
TikTok seems to be one of the most recent and popular Apps being used by children. It allows you to create clips of up to 60 seconds in length which can include lip-syncing to music and the use of special effects.
Anyone downloading the App can view content without setting up an account. However, to post, like or share content an account must be created.
As quoted on the internet matters website:
“By default all accounts are public so anyone on the app can see what your child shares. However, only approved followers can send messages.”

This is a photo-sharing app where you can send photos or videos to your friends. Although many children believe that their video or photo will disappear after 10 seconds, this may not always be the case.
An in-App function can allow for an unlimited viewing time and any content within a ‘story’ can be viewed for up to 24 hours. Content that is posted also has the potential to be ‘screenshot’.
