Lilleshall Primary School

Working Together for Excellence and Enjoyment

PSHEE

Through Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education we aim to encourage the children at Lilleshall Primary School to stay safe, be healthy, enjoy and achieve, to make a positive contribution and to achieve economic wellbeing. In order for us to achieve this we will promote self-esteem, responsibility, relationships, respect and being a part of different communities.

The personal and social development of pupils means supporting them as they develop from dependent to independent young people. In order for this transformation to take place, we as a school, need to promote the personal qualities, skills, attitudes and values which enable individuals to think and act for themselves, to manage relationships, to understand moral issues and to accept and understand rights and responsibilities.

Teachers follow the Jigsaw PSHEE program, but they will also respond to children’s personal and social issues as and when they arise.

Jigsaw half termly themes:

  • Being Me in My World

  • Celebrating Difference

  • Dreams and Goals

  • Healthy Me

  • Relationships

  • Changing Me

Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development
At Lilleshall Primary School we encourage all children to develop their Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) awareness through each curriculum area. SMSC is deeply embedded throughout the whole of the PSHEE curriculum and the themes that are taught throughout the year. Every lesson from Early Years to upper primary offers opportunities for children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development, and this is clearly mapped and balanced across each year group.
