Learning a new language provides an opening to another culture, its history and customs. When choosing which language to focus on here at Lilleshall Primary School we asked both parents and pupils which language they would prefer to learn. The most popular choice was to learn Spanish so Spanish is now taught to all KS2 children .
All key stage 2 children have Spanish lessons using resources from the Primary Languages Network, a recognised provider. We will focus on the 4 skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in Spanish. The children will start by learning key words and phrases and will work towards reading stories in Spanish.
Children will have the opportunity to listen and speak in Spanish, share stories, poems and songs. They will learn to write phrases and sentences as well as learning about Spanish customs and traditions.
We also offer after school clubs in French for years 1 and 2 and Spanish for years 3-6.
