E-Safety Team Assemblies

Assemblies 2022-2023

Monday 12th June.

In today's assembly we updated the school on the training modules we will need to complete as Digital Leaders. We explained some of the activities that we had to complete in modules one and two and highlighted the importance of thinking about how to use technology for good. We also took this assembly as an opportunity to remind everyone about their digital footprints and how they stick with you for life. Therefore it is important to make good choices when using the internet/being online.

Thursday 30th March.

In this assembly our committee wanted to focus on how to deal with pop-ups or unfamiliar links on a digital device. We used the 'Pop-Up Gremlins' story from Twinkl to demonstrate the three main steps everyone should follow when a pop-up comes up:

  • Stop - don't click.
  • Close - put down your digital device or turn the screen off.
  • Tell - find a trusted adult and get their help.

Monday 30th January.

This assembly focused on how people can stay safe online and was the main launch for Internet Safety Week. We introduced this year's theme: "Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online." We also explained the different activities each class might be doing and launched some of the Internet Safety Week competitions.

Monday 21st November

In today's assembly we spoke about Cyber-Bullying, Live Chat Wednesdays and our fundraiser at the Christmas Fayres. Our Communication leaders led the presentation and they were also supported to deliver our messages by the Joint Chairpersons and Deputy Chairperson.  We reminded everyone about their digital footprint and how important it is to reach out to people if they feel worried about anything online. Our stalls at the Christmas Fayres are to help raise funds to purchase the  'Childnet Digital Leaders Programme' which will help us to become confident and knowledgeable when discussing online safety. Tuesday 4th October 2022

Our main focus today was to introduce our team and the roles that we all have within the committee. We also wanted to re-launch  'Live Chat Wednesdays' and to get everyone in school to think about their 'Digital Footprint'.
