Stafford Castle
We all had the most enjoyable day visiting Stafford Castle. We had the opportunity to walk round the castle grounds through the outer bailey, the inner bailey and we then charged up the motte to the keep, imagining we were attacking the castle in Norman times. As well as trying on chain mail, armour, helmets and other outfits we were able to hold and observe weapons and then mint a Norman coin and make lavender bags. We all agreed it had been a very interesting and exciting day, imagining we were living in Norman times.
