Making Our Learning Fly

MFL

Modern Foreign Languages at Lilleshall

Learning a new language provides an opening to another culture, its history and customs. When choosing which language to focus on here at Lilleshall Primary School we asked both parents and pupils which language they would prefer to learn. The most popular choice was to learn Spanish, so Spanish is taught to all KS2 children .

All Key Stage 2 children have Spanish lessons using resources from 'Language Angels'. We focus on the skills of: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Pupils have the opportunity to listen, speak and write in Spanish, share stories, poems and songs. They learn to write phrases and sentences as well as learning about Spanish customs and traditions.

As a precursor to learning Spanish in KS2, we also offer an after school club for years 1 and 2.

Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development
At Lilleshall Primary School, we want all children to be encouraged to develop their Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural awareness through each Curriculum. For more information see the appropriate PDF document on the below page:
