We had a very exciting morning today in Year Two where we welcomed the author Eva Wong Nava into our classroom. Eva spoke to us about her work as an author and what inspires her story writing. She read her story ' Dancing Dumplings For My One and Only' aloud to the class and then we took part in a writing workshop. We looked at the words onomatopoeia and alliteration and what they mean and how we can use them in our writing. We then practised writing sentences using onomatopoeia. We can't wait to use what we learned with Eva today to help us write our own stories for the Readers to Writers competition.
