Making Our Learning Fly

Telford Community Grocery

Today School Council visited The Telford Grocery Project in Ketley. We saw the wonderful work this charity does and found out how it is used. We took all the generous donations of food given to our school for harvest with us and handed it to them for their shop and we saw them putting it straight on their shelves! We found out how anyone can access this resource and it supports people who need help affording their food shopping each week. They have all sorts of food from fresh fruit and vegetables to chilled and frozen foods. We found out how people can pay a set amount for a set number of items. We learnt about how they help reduce food waste and support the community through cookery classes, coffee mornings and other group activities. We saw the new cafe area too! We were very much inspired by the work they do and felt this is something we can as a school help to support in the future. We look forward to continuing our links with them.
