Welcome!
Hello - we are the Eco-Committee and our job is to help the planet by spreading awareness of environmental issues and doing our best to lead change. During this year, we are going to be working towards renewing The Green Flag Award, which we successfully achieved in 2023 and achieved the distinction award in 2024 . We have started by completing an Environmental Review of the different areas involved: Biodiversity, Marine, Energy, Litter, Water, Healthy Living, School Grounds, Global Citizenship, Transport and Waste. You can see our Environmental Review on this web page.
Our next step is to decide which topics from the review we will want to work on. We will do this through discussion and a vote to make choices. Once we have decided on the focus areas, we will post updates on here and share these with the school community in regular assemblies.
An action plan will be written to ensure that we achieve our targets in each area and we will monitor changes and evaluate our progress as we go along. Tasks will be shared out and we will work in teams to accomplish our goals. Along the way we will ask for support, help and involvement from members of our school and wider community.
We are also working hard to achieve The Plastic Clever School Award. We have successfully achieved levels one and two in 2024 and we aim to achieve level three this year, which is the final level of the award.
