LF: To write a newspaper article.
Wednesday & Thursday's lessons- This will take two days to complete.
So far this week we have looked at speech and how to punctuate it correctly. Today and tomorrow you will be including speech within your writing in the form of quotes for a newspaper article.
Today, you will be writing an article for a newspaper to show either the positive or negative impact that urbanisation (building a town) can have on the area and population. This links to the book Window that we have been studying. You will need to imagine you are the reporter and you have gone to speak to people about this, include these quotes as direct speech within your newspaper article.
1. Look at this page from BBC Bitesize, you don't need to complete the activities.
2. Choose either the positive or negative headline attached below, write your newspaper report. You may wish to use the planning sheet below first to make a note of your ideas.
