We hope you all had a lovely half term break and are all refreshed ready for the new half term!
We understand your half term has probably been a bit quieter than your usual school holiday as we are all limited in where we can go and things we can do but today we would love you to draw and write about something you did in the holiday. Maybe you did some cooking, had a film evening, went for a walk or played some games. We would love to hear about what you have been doing. If you want to write more extended sentences you could use some words to help you sequence your activities. For example you could use words such as first, then, later, after that.
For your phonics today we are thinking about writing words with the 'sh' sound at the beginning or the end e.g shop, wash. We have got a new clip for you to look at where Geraldine the Giraffe learns the 'sh' sound. Can you think about some sentences using some of the words with the 'sh' sound. For your handwriting we would like you to have a go at writing some words and sentences if you can using words with the 'sh' sound e.g. ship, shock, shoe, fish. push.
For our maths today we are using the White Rose Maths, Growing 6,7,8 week 3 session 1 which compares height. It looks at using the terms 'taller' and 'shorter' and compares the height of different cube towers. We have cubes in school you can collect for this activity if you wish. If you don't have cubes you could use Lego or Duplo or get some toys from around your home and compare the heights of them. Can you use words such as 'taller than' and 'shorter than'? You can try ordering your toys from tallest to shortest.
We hope you enjoy your day.
