Working Together for Excellence and Enjoyment

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness means paying full attention to something.  It means slowing down to really notice what you are doing.  Mindfulness is the opposite of rushing or multitasking.  When you're mindful, you are taking your time and focusing in a relaxed, easy way.  Learning how to be mindful can help us to be calm, alert, patient and happy.

Try these mindfulness minute break cards, they will help you to relax and calm your thoughts.  There are also some mini activities to complete if you are looking for something quick and fun to do!  How many different animal noises can you make in 5 minutes? A genie has granted you 3 wishes – what do you wish for and why?  Take a look at the quick and fun activities below smiley

We often think about how we can show kindness towards others, but have you ever thought about how you can be kind to yourself?  This is just as important.  Have a go at writing down your ideas on the worksheet below, or you might like to create your own.
Yoga has many benefits.  Not only is it the perfect exercise for building strength, improving flexibility and increasing muscle endurance, it's also great for mindfulness!  Have a go at this collection of yoga poses and phrases.

Use these craft instructions to create your own well-being jar. Having things to look forward to can make you feel happier and improve your well-being. Each time you think of something you would like to do in the future, write it on a piece of paper and place it inside your decorated jar.

Taking the time to reflect is really important for our well-being.  Have a go at filling in your own daily journal.  How do you feel today? What are you grateful for? What are your goals for today or this week?
