LF: To use mental strategies to divide.

Today, you are going to divide 2 digit numbers using knowledge of your times tables.

e.g.   26  ÷ 5 = 5 r1

I know that 5 x 5 is 25 and there is 1 left over. This is called the remainder (r) so we just write it next to our answer.

        35  ÷  8 = 4 r3

I know that 8 x 4 = 32 and there are 3 left over.
