ICT

ICT allows all children access to a wide range of resources. They use ICT tools to find analyse, exchange and present information responsibly, creatively and with developing confidence. They learn how to use ICT to enable rapid access to ideas and experiences from a wide range of people, communities and cultures.

 

ICT is taught as a discreet subject and as part of all areas of the curriculum


The following topics are taught:

 

  • Creating comic strips

  • Databases and branching databases

  • Computer control – using  Flowol

  • Animation

  • Email

  • Researching topics using the Internet

  • Producing digital music

  • Photostory

  • Photography

  • Blogging

  • Photography

  • Spreadsheets

  • Creating movies

 

In addition, we use a variety of materials to teach the children how to keep themselves safe in an online world. 
These include: ‘Think U Know’ materials and the Smart Crew.  We also have an annual visit from the local police who deliver a talk to each year group on Internet Safety.


To support learning beyond the classroom the school has subscribed to Espresso have to allow all pupils free access to all curriculum areas.

Coding in the ICT Curriculum

As part of the new ICT Curriciulum Lilleshall Primary school are now using a resource called Espresso Coding to teach programming. As part of this process the Pupil's are able to create their own content and share them on the Espresso website for you to see.
